The information day of Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) «Promotion of electric vehicles through municipalities and companies», under the European project “e-Mobility Works” (www.emobilityworks.com) was held in 13th November in Athens, at hotel TITANIA. Ele.C.Tra joins forces with the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Renewable Sources (www.ypeka.gr) and CRES (www.cres.gr) in order to promote electromobility in Greece.

The main scope was the new technologies of electric vehicles and their pros and cons to be presented. Moreover, successful best practices from both Greece and other European Countries, in combination with business models for the funding and use of electric vehicles and charging points’ network for both private and public fleets were discussed during the day.

Professor Andreas Vassilopoulos, President of AVMap GIS S.A. (www.avmap.gr) and the Greek partner of the European project Ele.C.Tra presented “The experience of Ele.C.Tra for the electromobility in Greek municipalities”.

He explained the Ele.C.Tra project and gave important information in reference to the survey for the transport habits in the area of Eastern Attica. Also, he described the results and the implementation of best practices in other European countries and highlighted the positive and negative characteristics for the future of electromobility. At the end, he suggested effective solutions which a municipality should apply in order electromobilty to be applied in the daily life of citizens.
