The “Innovative Mobility” event took place in Genoa from 13th to 15th of March. It has been a great success that brought to the city the “green” transport.
It was organized by Radio Babboleo in collaboration with the Genoa Municipality and Porto Antico di Genova within the european project Ele.C.TRA, that is dedicated to the sustainable transport and mobility.
The event started in the morning at Palazzo Verde with a meeting among the all agreement signers, many genoese agencies’ mobility managers and all the people and agencies involved in the electric sector.
Anna Maria Dagnino - the Infrastructure and Mobility Alderman - and Francesco Pellegrino - Director of Mobility Department of Genoa Municipality – participated.
After the meeting, a “road show” was organized in Piazzale Mandraccio (Porto Antico area). The show was open to all the citizens interested in electric vehicles. Here, more than 300 people tried for free electric scooters and bicycles during the days.
The meeting and the debate at Palazzo Verde dealt with sustainable mobility and the real cultural change in act towards the electric vehicles world.
According to lots of participants, what is really necessary now is to give people more incentives to buy electric vehicles, such as recharge infrastructure and to involve more stores, which can be considered as demand creator with all of their employees.
Many proposals have been made: the “recharge sms” method which can be realized with telephone company agencies; the transformation of old and unused petrol stations into recharge stations (maybe close to schools or universities) to guarantee the participation of young people.
