Melita has experience working on design of water-supply system and meliorations, was engineer in charge of an organization construction site, city water management - City of Sisak, coordinator for the construction and professional supervision of complex public, residential and business facilities with the appropriate infrastructure, Institute for the Organization of Construction - City of Zagreb, coordinator in the Section for Mayor Facilities and Equipment, and the Network of Communal and Energy Installations in New Buildings, City Institute for Construction and Planning – Zagreb, Advisor to Head of Mayor‘s Office, City of Zagreb. Melita works on implementation of the City of Zagreb SEAP and coordination of implementation various City of Zagreb EU projects.

She has a degree in Sociology from the University of Barcelona. She has also a Master in Digital Communication from the Universitat Ramon Llull. She has worked as a journalist for different digital media and paper media. Working as Project Manager, she has lead communication campaigns of several products. She is currently working for the Urban Ecology Agency of Barcelona as Communication Manager where has actively participated in the communication of some European Projects.

 

He has a Master in Structural Engineering for the UPC in 1999 and a Master in Engineering and Management of Renewable Energy (2002). From 1997 and 2002 he did research into the automotive industry in SEAT. At the same time, he performed systems to minimize the damages in transit collisions. In 1999 he was a component of the team that build the first Spanish electric-solar which took part in the Australian SUNRACE 2000. In 2002, he started working in the Urban Ecology Agency of Barcelona as energy coordinator.

 

He has a degree in Industrial Engineering in UPC (2009) and master degree in Energy Engineering in UB/UPC (2012). Since 2009 ha has been working in the energy area in BCNecologia. He is an advanced user in building simulation software and Geographical Integration Systems. He has worked in indicators projects, energy evaluation projects and energy simulation tools. He is coordination of European projects addressing subjects like climate change, sustainable mobility and energy.

She has a law degree (University of Genoa, 2005).

From 2005 to 2012 she collaborated with the Municipality of Genoa, carrying out administrative activities for COESO project, for the project Initiative Car Sharing “Domeniche Ecologiche”. During the 15th general population census, she supported the Statistics Office for data analysis and EU financed project 3I PLUS.

At the moment she collaborates with the “Consorzio Acquisto Gestori Circuito Nazionale Car Sharing” (administrative and financial activities for the project Initiative Car Sharing), and with the Municipality of Genoa for carry out administrative and financial activities.

 

She works since 2011 at the Municipality of Genoa. From 2013 she belongs to the ICT and European Projects Strategic Planning Department; she is involved both in management of the technical and administrative activities foreseen in some of European project were Genoa is a partner (FP7, IEE, CIP program) to new proposal for the H2020 program. She has both technical and communication expertise related to the projects followed by the Municipality. From 2011 to 2013 she was employed in ICT Department. Since 2000 to 2011 she worked as a private technical enterprise on ICT and GIS Application. Commitments were both Private Company to Public Institution. At Local, Regional level she was strongly involved in planning management project of Urban and Environmental fields. On National and International Level she has been committed as technical developer on Life Beigua Geopark project, Interreg IIIC and Robinwood I. Master in GIS technician and Degree in Natural Science.

 

Ms Palaioxari-Kampissiouli is a graduate of the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens. From October 2010 to December 2011, during the preparation of her diploma thesis, she worked in the field of food and she was specialized in sensory analysis and in qualitative/quantitative analysis. She worked as an employee in an art gallery. She has also participated in a survey that was conducted by an internationally renowned company addressed to clients from United Kingdom, Ireland & Scotland. On 2013-2014 she continued her studies on Logistics and International Transportation. From January 2014 she participates in the projects that AVMAP GIS S.A. undertakes, utilizing her knowledge in communication and environmental education.

Eng. Diane Cassar obtained her first degree in electrical engineering from the University of Malta in 2010, specializing in the field of power engineering. She has worked on the design and implementation of a hybrid photovoltaic system for her under-graduate thesis. Her main interests concern renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency in buildings and power electronics.   

 

Eng. Albert Falzon is an engineer by profession who has spent most of his career working in the field of renewable, energy planning and micro electronics, both in private industry as well as in the public sector, where he has held a number of project management positions. He obtained his first degree at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Malta where he specialized in the use fields of microcontrollers and solar radiation. He coordinated various project within FP7, IEE and Mediterranean programmers in a number of areas including environment and science policy.

 

Dr Yana Mifsud is a graduate in law from the University of Malta; she completed her B.A. in Legal and Humanistic (European Studies) Studies (2007) and Diploma of Notary Public from the same University in 2008. Yana was conferred with her Degree in Doctor of Laws in November 2010 from University of Malta. In partial fulfilment of this Degree, she completed a thesis entitled ‘Sustainable Development: The Concept and its Application from a Legal Perspective’.

 

Dr Warrington is an engineer by profession but has spent most of his career working in the field of ICT both in private industry as well as in the public sector, where he has held a number of senior management positions. He is former head of the Malta Council for Science and Technology and was a leading member of the team which developed Malta’s national strategy for S&T in 2006. He was FP7 National Coordinator for Malta, and led the MCST’s participation in over 20 FP7 projects in a number of areas including science policy and foresight.

 

Jesmond Xuereb has over 20 years experience in the field of science and technology and has held senior positions in the Malta Council for Science and Technology as well as at Temi Zammit Foundation. He has been the national delegate in numerous EU fora in the field of science. In 2007 he set up the Malta Intelligent Energy Management Agency (MIEMA) with financial support from the EU and has since then focused his efforts on developing its portfolio and service offering.

Position: Engineer at Local Energy Agency, City Council of Murcia

Industrial Engineer from the Technical University of Cartagena UPCT (Spain) and Architectural Technician from Catholic University San Antonio UCAM (Spain). He is a specialist in Energy Efficiency in construction and building installations. He has 9 years of experience in architectural projects where he's been the main responsible for electrical, HVAC, renewable energy and plumbing design. He speaks fluent English and Spanish.

He is EU Project Manager from George Washington University (USA) and Industrial Engineer from Technical University of Cartagena UPCT (Spain). He has a wide experience in all task regarding European projects dealing with energy, transport, social, economic and environment. He is part of in the Department of European Programmes of Murcia city council since 2008. He speaks fluent English, Spanish and intermediate German and Italian.

Head of the European Projects Department of the City Council of Murcia. Since April 2005, she has been responsible for applying for managing and justifying all funds received by the City Council of Murcia from the EU. Ms. Chartidou holds MSc Geoinformatics at the University of Southampton Great Britain and is a PhD candidate at the University of France Compte, with a 9-year experience in architectural information applications. The last 8 years, she has been involved in defining the architectural structure and documentation for over 50 systems and Geoinformatics  on behalf both local communities on projects contracted by the AVMap GIS Inc., and for projects funded by the European Union and national funds (IEE/12/041/SI2.644730 – Ele.C.Tra., FP7 SMARTeST, transnational partnerships with Tunisia, Turkey, Cyprus, Slovenia, NTERREG MED 2BPARKS, INTERREG MED AGROENVIRONMED, INTERREG IIIB ARCHIMED MANDWATER, INTERREC III C CAVESNETWORK, INTERREG IIIB ARCHIMED BYHERINET, COST A27 LANDMARKS, INTERREG IIIB MEDOCC GRINMED, etc.) on behalf of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Institute of Geoenvironment, for the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, and other public sector bodies.She was a key member of the implementation team for the NSRF's projects monitoring  portal, anaptyxi.gov.gr of the Ministry of Development and Competitiveness.

Prof. Andreas Vassilopoulos is an Honors Doctor of the Geology and Geoenvironment Dept. of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Doctor of Geoarchaeology – of the University France Compte. On both doctoral studies he has undertaken the development of GIS systems and applications in geoinformatics. He has been contracted as Assoc. Professor at the University of Athens in the field of geoinformatics and since 2008 he has been teaching geoinformatics in the field of logistis at the Technical Educational Institute of Sterea Ellada, Dep. Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

In 2013 Mr. Vassilopoulos was awarded with the “Konstantinos Ktenas” award by the Academy of Athens for his research in the field of Geoinformatics promoting worldwide, the geological knowledge of Greece, while the Greek Organization of Industrial Property has awarded him with four certificates of patents within the last ten years. He has been selected from the Ministry of Development as a National representative in COST Actions (ES1306, ES1308, ES1104, ES0907, ES0701, C22, G2, 634, Α27). He is is the President of the Institute of GeoEnvironment in Greece, scientific expert of NKUA team, a research fellow in the Institute ISTA (University Besancon, France), editor of the monthly Academic newspaper «Academic Voice» (www.alogos.gr) and Chief Executive Manager of AVMap GIS Group of Companies (www.avmap.gr).

The last years he has coordibated the development of geoinformatics systems in more than 70 public bodies in Greece and in France. His main scientific interest focuses on Geoinformatics.  He has coordinated 15 European Projects and cooperated with scientific partners from 25 countries, while he is editor of 2 scientific publications, author of 5 academic books, one monograph, and over 210 publications in International Scientific Journals and Conferences.

Her professional experiences are mainly related to R&D activities within innovative projects in the fields of urban transport planning and sustainable mobility. Ms Podesta’s main expertises are in the fields of goods transport, urban logistics, mobility plans, innovative technologies applied to mobility. Ms Podesta was involved – for the Municipality of Genoa – in different european projects (CIVITAS CARAVEL, CIVITAS CATALIST, CIVINET (FP6), DEMOCRITOS (FP7), LOSE, 3I PLUS (“Marittimo” Italy-France cross-border cooperation programme)) and national projects (financed by the Ministry of Enrivonment). She is working at the Municipality of Genoa on many European projects about Urban Mobility.

 
He is a civil engineer (University of Genoa, 1999) with a specialisation in transport planning. First as an independent consultant and since 2009 as permanent staff of Genoa Municipality, he acquired a deep professional experience in R&D and management activities of innovation-related projects in the fields of urban transport planning and sustainable mobility. He has been particularly involved in the themes of demand management and pricing strategies, urban mobility planning, telematics applied to mobility, public transport and parking management.
He participated at several project and initiatives, both at national and international level, among which may be quoted: PROGRESS, DEMOCRITOS (as project coordinator) and, within the CIVITAS initiative, CARAVEL (as project coordinator and Genoa site manager), CATALIST and MODERN (as technical manager). 
Currently, within the Mobility Department of Genoa Municipality, he is in charge of the coordination of the Public Services Contracts unit (managing the contracts with the local public transport and the local parking management companies) and the Innovation Projects unit.
 

He is the Director of Mobility Department since 1st February 2013. He is competent in mobility and especially in managing of Local Public Transport in the city of Genoa.

 

She has been working for the Municipality of Genova since 1989. From 2011 to January 2013 she was the head of Work Policies Department for the Public Works and Work Policies Area. From 1998 to 2008 he worked at the Osservatorio Civis where he developed many European projects about culture, international cooperation and ICT and in particular about GIS technologies, such as INTERREG IIIB IC2M, MEDPACT, ISAAC, ContempO.  From 2008 he worked at the Information System Department and then in the same department he worked in the Digital City office where he collaborate at many EU project for example in CITIZENSCAPE, ePartecipate, WINNOVATE. From April 2013 he has been working for the Strategical Planning and EU Projects Coordination Department where he is involved in various EU Project (ICITY, RADICAL, I-LOCATE, Ele.C.Tra, and GeoSmartCity).

 
She is graduated in International Relations.  From 2005 to 2010 she worked for the Municipality of Genova at the Tourism and Culture Department. From 2010 to March 2013 she worked for the Smart City Process Department. From April 2013 she has been working at the Municipality of Genoa on the coordination  of many European projects in various EC programmes for the Strategical Planning and EU Projects Coordination Department.
 
 
He has a degree in Economics and Business at University of Genoa. From 2001 to 2003 he worked at the Information System Department at the Municipality of Genoa. From 2003 to 2005 he held the project managers’ coordinator position managing ICT projects and workgroups. From 2005 to 2010 he focused his activity on cost reduction, security and service improvement of the servers and clients of the municipality head of systems enginers. From 2011 to 2013 he was the head of system integration for the Information System Department.
Now he is in charge for tecnological support to Smart City and EU projects for the Strategical Planning and EU Projects Coordination Department.

Camelia Iordache holds a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and several diplomas in project management - PMP, Leadership, communication and coordination, Structural Funds expertise, Training of Trainers (ToT). Having over 10 years of experience within Relians in EU project management, she has developed and coordinated large EU projects in: Energy efficiency, Transport, Urban Planning, Business infrastructure, Health, Environment.
Key relevant qualifications: coordination of 5 Integrated Plans for Urban Development, 1 SEAP coordination, management of 1 large framework agreement in order to achieve funding and support documentation during the evaluation for 15 projects included in the Integrated Urban Development Plan, out of which 4 of urban infrastructure, management of over 90 grant projects both for private and public applicants as Consultant and Project Manager – Coordinator.
 
Alexandra Mendonca, Economist, MBA, has relevant experience in the coordination and implementation of transnational projects, as well as in the financial and administrative management of projects co-funded by national and EU programmes.  She is experienced in market research (e.g. market surveys, market segmentation) and in the outline of communication strategies. She has also been involved on the feasibility analysis of transport projects.
 
 

Sofia Adao e Silva has a degree in civil engineer (Planning, Management and Transport area). Project leader on several major traffic forecast studies and analysis for the new Motorway Concessions, including its economic evaluation. Large experience in interurban traffic studies, freeway and urban intersections, accessibilities to different land-use (commercial areas, urbanizations, industrial areas, airports, railway stations and parking lots). She is responsible for the area of Geographic Information System and for Transport Models in the company.

 

Manuel LibanoMonteiro is a civil engineer (urban and environmental area), and is Exacto’s Technical Director. He has dedicated his life to transportation issues. He began his professional life in the construction of motorways under the National Road Plan and in the last decade was responsible for the coordination of several transportation projects, concerning the modelling and traffic forecasts for new transport systems in Portugal, Europe and South America. He is developing the optimization of transport studies’ methodologies and is responsible for the internationalization of the company into South America and Africa.

 

Nuno Sarmento, M.Sc. in Transports, post-graduation in Traffic and Transportation Engineering.

Nuno is the owner and manager of Exacto. He has been responsible for the general coordination of several urban transportation plans in Portuguese cities (e.g. Leiria, Viana do Castelo, Amadora, Viseu, as well as in cities of other countries (San Pedro Sula, in Honduras; Salvador in Brazil; Macau in China). He was also responsible for the economic evaluation of numerous new transport facilities (e.g. new motorways, new high speed railways). He is a transport consultant for the European Investment Bank and for the Portuguese Mobility National Institute.

 
Mr Francesco Edoardo Misso is a graduate of the Department of Transport and Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano.
He has developed deep specific skills in railway transport by writing two theses about the railway nodes of Milan and Genoa, in terms of infrastructural and service upgrading, and carrying out several studies and projects.
In T Bridge S.p.A. he is an Expert Consultant and he works in the mobility and public transport planning, developing technical supporting activities on:
  • Sustainable mobility, taking into account electric vehicles, pedestrian and bike mobility and river navigation.
  • Railway system planning, paying attention to demand mobility needs, network characteristics and rolling stock;
  • Public transport planning, in consideration of the demand mobility analysis;
  • Analysis and individuation of development scenarios of logistics and intermodality, taking into account the Italian and Mediterranean port systems;
  • Planning, coordination and monitoring of survey campaigns about mobility,  
  • Documentation realization and partnership involvement for European projects about sustainable mobility and transport means (LIFE+, Central Europe, South-East Europe, IEE programme).
