Firenze regional event

At the Festival of Europe the pilot project that involves the cities of Florence, Genoa and Barcelona organized the Electric scooters in Florence Tour from Cascine Park to Largo Annigoni with the "new" scooters of  project Ele.C.Tra!

During the Festival of Europe, the Municipality of Florence and the stakeholders of the European project  "Ele.C.Tra." – project that promotes the spread of electric scooters - organized a tour through the city of Florence ( from Cascine Park, passing through the centre, to Largo Annigoni) with electric scooters and e-vehicles for an alternative and sustainable mobility. Leading this green procession, Lorenzo Perra, Councillor of technological innovation and information systems of the City of Florence.

The event involved  citizens who had the chance to test electric vehicles and experiment an alternative and sustainable mobility.

The City of Florence has implemented the existing charging network and has bought, for its internal fleet,  85 new fully electric vehicles. Moreover, in recent days, the City of Florence has published the call for a car sharing service with  pure electric powered means with the aim to involve later this year even scooters. The Festival of Europe 2015 sees the involvement of the major European, national and local institutions, such as: the Department of European Affairs of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the European University Institute, the Italian Representative of the European Commission, the Information Office of the European Parliament in Italy, the Council of Europe, the Region of Tuscany, the Florence City Council, the Metropolitan City of Florence, the Agency Erasmus + Italy / INDIRE, the University of Florence. The Festival was realized with the support of the National Agency for Youth. Coordination was entrusted to Fondazione Sistema Toscana.
