Murcia participated in the 1st forum of cities that promote electromobility.

The Municipality of Murcia participated in the First Forum of cities that foster the electromobility held in Madrid at the headquarters of the IDAE (Institute for Diversification and Saving of Energy). Murcia took part in this important meeting as a member of RECI, Spanish Network of Smart Cities, in which Murcia leads the Energy Working Group.

In addition to the IDAE and RECI, also co-organizes the event the Business Association for the Development and Promotion of Electric Vehicle, AEDIVE, which brings among its members many electric vehicle manufacturers and their related infrastructures.

The meeting aimed to become an opportunity to pool the most important aspects that make up the development of electromobility in our cities and establish a debate about crucial aspects in the implementation of electric vehicles through current experiences from different municipalities.

This forum, which was accessed by invitation, arose from the interest of the municipalities committed to the promotion of electric vehicles, to resume the meetings promoted by IDAE in previous years, under the pilot project Movele.

Murcia took part in this meeting represented by ALEM, the Local Energy Agency and Climate Change of Murcia, responsible for the development and promotion of electric vehicles in the municipality. Murcia had the opportunity to announce its participation in the European Project Ele.C.Tra (Electric City Transport) that aims to foster the use of electric scooters in urban areas. Murcia also strengthened its links with other RECI cities with respect to the promotion of electric scooters.

Participation in this forum was limited to the municipal authorities of the RECI cities, which are linked to the area of sustainable mobility and involved in the development of a sustainable management model to improve the quality of life of citizens, focusing on this case in electrical mobility as an integral part of a sustainable, efficient, safe and environmentally friendly urban mobility.
