EleCTra & REMIDA’s meeting was realized on the 18th of September, 2013, co-organized by Municipality of Pallini (East Attica) and ERFC (European Regional Framework for Cooperation, Achaia, Greece). The aim of the meeting was to set up a local working group and forum strengthening local energy policy.

During the meeting, several projects were presented (REMIDA, GRASP, EleCTra) by the correspondent representatives. AVMap GIS SA presented Ele.C.Tra’s practices, pilot and non-pilot cities; Municipality of Pallini is located in East Attica and will be one of the non – pilot cities of East Attica that will get prepared via Ele.C.Tra in order to apply new urban mobility models.
The importance of energy efficiency and the best ways to minimize the energy consumption were the main topics under discussion. REMIDA (smaRt Energy chains and coMmunIties in the meD Area) aims at developing new Energy Efficiency (EE) and Renewable Energy Source (RES) solutions in Mediterranean cities, through the strengthening of the local energy policy and strategy and the promotion of a smart management of energy supply and demand.

Common ground for the two projects is to bring together local authorities, private sector and research community and establish Local Support Groups to encourage the development of smart energy communities.

Municipality of Pallini is also a member of the Greek Ele.C.Tra National Support Group.
